Sustainability
Responsible Sourcing for the Future
As a food manufacturer with deep roots in surimi based products, Li Chuan recognises that the long term health of marine resources is closely connected to the sustainability of our business and the communities and industries that depend on them.
We believe we have a responsibility to support the responsible use of marine resources and to continually strengthen the way we source, manufacture and operate.
Responsible Marine Sourcing
Seafood is an important raw material in many of our products. We recognise that responsible sourcing requires ongoing attention to the origin and traceability of raw materials, the condition of marine resources and developments in fisheries management.
Through our sourcing practices and supply chain controls, we seek to support the responsible use of seafood resources while maintaining the quality and consistency required by our customers.
Traceability & Responsible Supply Chains
Traceability plays an important role in responsible sourcing.
We continue to strengthen our understanding and oversight of our seafood supply chain, working with suppliers and partners to improve transparency and support responsible sourcing practices.
Our MSC Chain of Custody certification, where applicable, provides an established framework for maintaining the traceability of eligible MSC certified seafood through the supply chain.
Working Together
Protecting marine resources requires cooperation throughout the seafood supply chain.
Li Chuan seeks to work with suppliers, customers, industry organisations, relevant authorities and other stakeholders to support responsible fishing and sourcing practices and to strengthen awareness of marine sustainability.
Where appropriate, we also support collaboration with technical experts and research organisations to improve understanding of the environmental and ecological impacts associated with fisheries and seafood production.
Looking Ahead
Sustainability requires ongoing attention as knowledge, technologies, regulations and industry practices evolve.
We will continue to review our sourcing and manufacturing practices and work with our supply chain partners to support responsible seafood sourcing.
Our aim is to contribute to a responsible and resilient seafood supply chain while supporting the long term availability of marine resources for future generations.
